This free webinar is brought to you by CCCOER, and lasts around 1 hour. No pre-registration necessary.
“Participants in this webinar will learn about Open Education Resources (OERs) and how remix culture can enliven the learning experience. An OER is a resource that is free to revise, remix, and distribute freely to students. The flexible nature of OERs mean that they can be adapted to specific learning objectives and instructor style. The freedom of OERs is enriched when coupled with strong course design and effective use of delivery tools such as a learning management system. Attend this webinar to learn how to use OERs in your teaching and learning.
Quill West is the OER Project Director at Tacoma Community College in Tacoma, Washington where she has promoted OER adoption efforts, which saved students an estimated $271,000 in textbook costs in nine months. Prior to her leadership position in OER, Quill was a faculty librarian at Walla Walla Community College, and contributed her work as a librarian to Washington State’s Open Course Library project. Quill holds degrees in library science and interdisciplinary studies, and has been teaching in multiple formats for over ten years.”
